Tell us about your place of residence, city or region, activity and if or what you like your place of residence?

I am currently living in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to Geneva I lived in Vancouver for 3 years and NYC for 12 years. I love the beauty of Switzerland and its central location within Europe. It’s exciting to experience so many different types of people, languages and landscapes in one place. To be able to travel short distances and visit so many other countries is a dream.

I work remotely for the American company, StockX leading Global Brand Partnerships.

Your must-see addresses near you? (restaurant, market, gallery, museum, not to be missed, intimate or secret address, etc.)

I live in the Eaux-Vives area where there are a lot of fabulous restaurants and bars. Every Saturday there is an amazing pop-up market with the freshest produce, flowers, cheeses, etc.

On a beautiful day, pick up some fresh flowers from the market, have a natural wine and entrée at the incredibly chic Savage Bar patio, enjoy a pizza at neighborhood pizzeria, Da Paolo for dinner and end the night with a walk around the lake and gelato from Manu or Gelatomania in-hand.

Your favorite addresses on Earth?

Most of my favorite places provide a sense of peace and comfort with elements of design. Here are a few I hope to return to.

Dolomites, Italy - Forestis

Kazbegi, Georgia - Rooms Hotel

Saint-Raphael, South of France – Les Roche Rouges

Tel Aviv, Israel – The Jaffa

Agafay Desert, Morocco - Scarabeo Camp

Istanbul Turkey, Soho House

With that being said, Mexico City remains one of my favorite cities on earth. I have been multiple times over the years, and I would move there in an instant.

Do you think it is important to travel and why?

I think it’s incredibly important to travel if you have the privilege of doing so. It exposes you to so many different cultures, food, fashion, art etc. You learn so much about other people, their experiences (and yourself) along the way. Exposing yourself to dissimilar ideas and perspectives makes you a more well-rounded and open-minded person. For me personally, it’s the greatest reward.

What do you think of the future of travel and what we (citizens) should consider?

I think travel is becoming more personalized, tailored to people’s specific preferences vs what might be trending on social media.

There’s a lot going on in the world and many conflicts. It’s important to be conscious of what people may be going through, their story and understand a country’s government does not necessarily reflect the ideals of its citizens. As a visitor in someone else’s home, be mindful and respectful.

What would you advise?

Understand it is a privilege to visit someone else’s home and experience their culture. Be open-minded and courteous.

As a woman, how do you judge the future of our land or our societies?

There is a paradigm shift happening in society where women are finally being invited into spaces that have historically been male-dominated. We’re taking a seat at the proverbial table and demanding respect and equality.

The future of society requires a lot of empathy and conversation. In life, business, politics, etc. I believe there should always be at least one woman in the room.

How do you plan to contribute to it? Women who mark you?

Pay it forward. Be the person to mention someone’s name when they’re not in the room. I have been lucky enough to have mentors and women in my life and business who have helped me along the way. I want to do the same for younger colleagues and friends. I have some incredibly talented and extraordinary women in my network who all rally around one another to aid in their success. When the women around us are winning, we’re all winning.

What would be your travel dream?

I have yet to explore Asia. Japan has been at the top of my bucket list. My husband and I are planning our honeymoon to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and I can’t wait.
