THE ODAWARA ART FOUNDATION, JAPAN

Enoura Observatory a magical place which overlooks beautiful Sagami Bay, houses a 100-meter-long gallery built to frame the sun at dawn.

The Foundation also has a tea ceremony room, a restored Meigetsu Gate from the Muromachi period (1338-1573), and a beautiful garden. You will also find a range of Japanese architectural styles, from medieval to contemporary. Founded in 2017 by the Odawara Art Foundation, which was established by contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto, this complex was built to show visitors the essence of Japanese culture. This spot is perfect for those with a love of art and architecture.

WEST WITH THE NIGHT ON MY MIND
I woke up this morning, thinking of the book West with the Night by Beryl Markham that my American Friend Blake recommended to me last year. There is so many things I love about the book and its author: The fact that she was a racehorse trainer in Kenya and the first person to fly solo and non-stop across the Atlantic from the UK to America. Her memoir is so well written that Hemingway once said that he was completely ashamed of himself as a writer after reading it.
